Description
Spermophilus adocetus (Merriam, 1903). Proc. Biol. Soc. Wash., 16:79.
TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico, Michoacan, La Salada, 40 mi. (64 km) S. Uruapan.
DISTRIBUTION: E. Jalisco, Michoacan, and N. Guerrero (W.C. Mexico).
COMMENT: Subgenus Otospermophilus; see Hall, 1981:399. Gromov et al., 1965: 145, considered Otospermophilus a distinct genus. Includes infernatus; see Alvarez and Ramirez-Pulido, 1968, Rev. Soc. Mex. Hist. Nat., 29: 181-190.
