Figure 1. Study area. (a) Mexico City: Lake of Chapultepec, canals of Xochimilco, Lake of Chalco; (b) State of Veracruz: Lake San Julian; (c) State of Veracruz: Lake La Encantada and Lake Catemaco. Triangles represent type localities. The figure was created using QGIS version 3.10.0 and assembled from the data sources (shapefiles) of the Instituto Nacional de Estadísitica y Geografía.
