Description
Psuedovelia buccula Andersen, 1983
(Figs. 1, 7, 13, 14, 17, 23, 29, 35, 41, 47, 53, 59)
Material examined. CHINA, Yunnan Prov.: 4 apterous males, 2 macropterous males, 1 macropterous female, Mengla county, Nangahe Waterfal, 26 July 2016, Zhen Ye leg. (NKUM); 1 apterous male, 4 apterous females, Jinghong city, Mandian village, Naban Nature Reserve, 28 July 2016, Zhen Ye leg. (NKUM).
Remarks. The specimens that we have examined closely match the original description provided by Andersen (1983). Pseudovelia buccula can be distinguished by its posteriorly produced buccula, long hairs on the ventral part of the middle femur (Fig. 23), and relatively long and curved hind tarsal segment I (Fig. 29). The depression of abdominal segment VIII of P. buccula is nearly rectangular, with four small tufts of setae along its margin (Figs. 35, 41, 47, 53). The hind margin of the pygophore (Fig. 59) bears dense, short, brown setae. This is a new record for China.
Distribution. China (Yunnan), Thailand (Fig. 65).
