Taxonomic status of L. roseveari is uncertain. It appears to be closely related to L. griselda and L. rosalia. Monotypic.

Distribution. NW Zambia.

Descriptive notes. Head-body 113- 137 mm, tail 123-153 mm, ear 13-19 mm, hindfoot 26-30 mm. No information on weight is available. Fur of Rosevear’s Striped Grass Mouse is coarse and brownish above, contrasting with white below. Single well-marked black mid-dorsalstripe extends from between ears to rump, and flanks have several lateral stripes covered with buff-colored spots (not clearly aggregated into longitudinallines). Tail is long (c.110% of head-body length), dark above, orange or yellow laterally, and white below Females have 2+2 = 4 pairs of nipples.
