Family ZAPODIDAE

(JUMPING MICE)

• Small rodents with yellowish or reddish fur, long legs, large hindfeet, tails much longer than head-body lengths, and grooved upper incisors.

• 19-26 cm.

• Holarctic Region.

• Open and brushy fields and forests.

• 3 genera, 5 species, 33 axa.

• No species threatened; none Extinct since 1600.
