Dryinus expolitus Xu, Olmi & He 2007: 454; Mita 2009b: 49; Mita & Okajima 2012: 153; Xu et al. 2011 g (Suppl.): 14.

Description of Female. Fully winged; length 3.8–6.2 mm. Head black, except mandible testaceous; clypeus black, except anterior margin whitish (in specimens from Japan, Jokoji and Komi, clypeus testaceous; in specimen from Japan, Imakira-dake, clypeus black, except distal half brown); antenna of holotype brown, except segments 5–10 testaceous and ventral side of segment 1 whitish (antenna of specimen from Japan, Jokoji, testaceous, except segments 4–8 brown; antenna of specimens from Japan, Imakira-dake and Komi, brown, except segments 1–2 and 10 testaceous); mesosoma of holotype black (in specimens from Japan mesosoma black, except lateral margins, posterior collar of pronotum and pronotal tubercle completely or partly testaceous); metasoma of holotype and specimen from Japan, Komi, brown; metasoma of some specimens from Japan partly or totally testaceous; legs of holotype black, except articulations, fore trochanters and distal third of fore coxae testaceous; legs of specimens from Japan, Jokoji and Kamakura, completely testaceous; legs of specimen from Japan, Imakira-dake, testaceous, except procoxa, femora and tibiae brown; legs of specimen from Japan, Komi, testaceous, except coxae, femora and protibia brown. Antenna clavate; antennal segments of holotype in following proportions: 13:7:48:18:19:10:10:8:6:9; antennal segments of smaller specimen from Japan, Imakira-dake, in following proportions: 11:5:22:10:9:8:6:5.5:4.5:8; antennal segments of smaller specimen from Japan, Komi, in following proportions: 9:5:19.5:8.5:6:6:5:5:4.5:7.5. Head dull, hairless, excavated, with dorsal and ventral surface granulated; frontal line incomplete, not present in anterior third of face; in specimen from Japan, Jokoji, face with some tracks of short transverse keels; occipital carina complete, laterally not reaching eyes; ocellar triangle with few irregular keels joining ocelli; holotype with POL = 3; OL = 4; OOL = 11; OPL = 1; TL = 2; greatest breadth of the posterior ocelli longer than TL (3:2). In specimen from Japan, Imakira-dake, POL = 2.5; OL = 3; OOL = 9.5; OPL = 1; TL = 2.5; greatest breadth of posterior ocelli longer than TL (3:2.5). In specimen from Japan, Jokoji, TL as long as greatest breadth of posterior ocelli. In specimen from Japan, Komi, POL = 2; OL = 3; OOL = 8; OPL = 0.5; TL = 2; greatest breadth of posterior ocelli about as long as TL. Pronotum (Plate 77C) shiny, smooth, with disc granulated; sides of pronotum unsculptured and with many longitudinal striae around disc; pronotum with disc humped and posterior collar short; pronotal tubercle not reaching tegula. Scutum dull, smooth, granulated, with few areolae near posterior margin. Notauli of holotype complete, posteriorly separated; minimum distance between notauli longer than POL (6:3). In specimens from Japan notauli apparently incomplete, hardly visible among areolae present near posterior margin of scutum. Scutellum dull, granulated. Metanotum of holotype with anterior half reticulate rugose and posterior half smooth; in specimens from Japan metanotum partly or totally rugose. Mesopleura dull, reticulate rugose. Metapleura dull, strongly transversely striate. Propodeum hairless, with dorsal surface reticulate rugose; posterior surface reticulate rugose, without longitudinal keels; dorsal surface of propodeum slightly longer than posterior surface (13:8). Fore wing with three dark transverse bands; in holotype (6.25 mm) distal part of stigmal vein much longer than proximal part (21:9); in smaller specimen from Japan, Komi, distal part of stigmal vein more than twice as long as proximal part (2.62); in smaller specimens from Japan distal part of stigmal vein less than twice as long as proximal part (16: 9.5 in specimens from Jokoji). Protarsal segments of holotype in following proportions: 24:4:9:28:43; Protarsal segments of specimen from Japan, Imakira-dake, in following proportions: 26:6:12:29:44; Protarsal segments of specimen from Japan, Komi, in following proportions: 15:3:6:16:27. Enlarged claw not spatulate (Plate 77F) with one strong subdistal tooth and one row of 9–14 lamellae. Segment 5 of protarsus (Plate 77F) with two rows of approximately 23–36 lamellae; distal apex with at least 24–30 lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/1/2.
