Heradion momoinum Ono 2004, comb. nov.

Description

Heradion momoinum (Ono, 2004) comb. nov.

Mallinella momoina Ono, 2004b: 69, figs 8–10 (description of Ψ). Heradion momoinum comb. nov.

Type material. Holotype, Ψ [NSNTAr 5480], Vietnam, Lam Dong Province, Dambri, 800 m, 1.viii.2001, leg. S Nomura, examined.

Remark. Heradion momoinum comb. nov. is here classified as a member of the naiadis group. This species can be recognized by the posteriorly located reniform spermathecae and the absence of an epigynal plate. The female of H. momoinum comb. nov. is similar to H. naiadis (known from eastern Thailand) and H. intermedium spec. nov. (from southern Vietnam) particularly in the general shape of the spermathecae. It can be distinguished from H. naiadis by the larger proximal part of the intermittent ducts. The length of coiled part of the female internal ducts is also greater in H. momoinum comb. nov. than that in H. naiadis (see also Dankittipakul & Jocqué 2004: 771: fig. 59). The shape of spermathecae of the female internal ducts is reniform in H. momoinum comb. nov. (see also Ono 2004b: 69; fig. 10) but globular in H. intermedium spec. nov. (Fig. 4).
