Records from the study area: Kerala—“ Neumania volzi “ Walter (1928); Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu—Cook (1967); West Bengal, Maharashtra—Lundblad (1969); Prasad (1974).
Habitat: Lakes and ponds.
Distribution: India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Japan, New Caledonia, Palau Islands.
