Paravortex mesodesma Brusa, Ponce

Description

Paravortex mesodesma Brusa, Ponce de León & Damborenea, 2006.

Type host. Mesodesma mactroides Deshayes (Mollusca, Mesodesmatidae).

Type locality. Uruguay, Rocha Department, Playa de La Coronilla (33°51ʹS, 53°30ʹW).

Site of infection. Intestine.

Holotype: MLP 5563 (whole mounted specimen). Paratypes: MLP 5564 (1 whole mounted specimen and 3 specimens sagittally sectioned).

Remaks. One specimen in toto and one specimen sagittally sectioned deposited in the Facultad de Ciencias, Montevideo, Uruguay.
