Description

Echinobothrium megacanthum Ivanov & Campbell, 1998

Type host. Myliobatis goodei Garman (Pisces, Myliobatidae).

Site of infection. Spiral intestine.

Type locality. Argentina, Rio Negro Province, Golfo San Matías, San Antonio Oeste (40°44ʹS, 64°56ʹW).

Holotype: MLP 3958.

Remarks. Paratypes deposited in the Institute of Parasitology, České Budĕjovice Czech Republic and the United States National Parasite Collection in Beltsville, Maryland, USA.
