Description

Pomphorhynchus patii Lunaschi, 1997

Hosts. Luciopimelodus pati (Valenciennes) and Parapimelodus valenciennesi (Kröyer) (Pisces: Pimelodidae).

Site of infection. Intestine.

Type locality. Argentina, Buenos Aires Province, Ensenada, Punta Lara.

Syntypes: MLP 2197, MLP 2211.

Remarks. P. patii was synonymised with Pomphorhynchus sphaericus Pertierra, Spatz & Doma, 1996 by Amin et al. (2003).
