Idiopteron nigripenne (Pic, 1934)

Falsocaenia nigripenne Pic, 1934: 136.

Type material. Syntype, female, “ Costa Rica ”, without other data (ZMPA).

Redescription. Whole body dark brown, only pronotum yellow (Fig. 15). Eyes small, distance between eyes 1.9x longer than maximal eye diameter. Maxillary and labial palpi brown, both widened, with distal papillae. Antennomere 3 1.1x shorter than 4 (Fig. 41). Pronotum (Fig. 30) 1.9x wider than long. Elytra 3.3x longer than humeral width. Female genitalia as in (Fig. 76). Body length: 11.8 mm, humeral width: 3.1 mm.

Remark. Syntype with left antennomeres 2–11 and right antennomeres 5–11 absent.

Comment. After a detailed examination of both external morphological characters and female genitalia, the species Falsocaenia nigripenne Pic, 1934 is transferred to the genus Idiopteron.
