Mesoscutum with posterior margin of postpronotum surrounded by brown line, brown stripe-like spot and brown round spot behind postpronotum, and brown round spot near transverse scutal suture, pair of small black triangular spots on posterior margin extending to scutellum; presutural dorsocentral seta before horizontal level of presutural acrostichal seta; anteriormost postsutural dorsocentral seta far from transverse scutal suture and anteriormost postsutural acrostichal seta far from transverse scutal suture; prescutellar acrostichal seta shorter than anteriormost postsutural dorsocentral seta. Anepisternum and katepisternum brown with greyish pruinosity; anepisternum with 2 brown spots respectively on upper and lower margins, 1 strong anepisternal seta and 3–4 short setulae; katepisternum with small brown spot at base of each of 2 katepisternal seta. Scutellum shiny blackish brown, with greyish yellow pruinosity on basal 1/4–1/3 and dense yellow microtrichia on apical 1/2, and greyish white elliptical median spot present on basal 1/3 and pair of small greyish white round spots near base of basal scutellar seta. Legs yellow except apical tarsomeres brown. Fore femur with 3–4 strong posteroventral setae and 6 posterodorsal setae; fore tibia with 1 long preapical anterodorsal seta and 1 short apicoventral seta. Mid femur with 4 weak anterior and 1 apicoposterior setae; mid tibia with 1 strong preapical anterodorsal seta and 1 strong apicoventral seta. Hind femur with 2 strong anteroventral setae on apical 1/2 and 1 preapical anterodorsal seta; hind tibia with 1 preapical anterodorsal seta and 1 short apicoventral seta. Wing (Fig. 4) with 3 white spoon-like spots along costal margin and 7 dot-like spots along R2+3; 7–8 white radiating bands along margin between tips of R2+3 and CuA1; several very narrow white lines in large brown central area and white netlike grid along CuA1; r-m black; posterior margin strongly undulating; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1) sections in proportion of 4.2: 1: 1; r-m beyond middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 1: 1.8; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/9 of penultimate. Halter pale yellow, except knob greyish black.

Abdomen: Female tergites with spots unclear (specimen in bad condition). Type material. Holotype ♂ (Figs. 29–31) (CAUC), CHINA, Yunnan Province: Jinping, Fenshuiling Protection Station, 18. V. 2006, Junhua Zhang. Paratypes: CHINA, Yunnan Province: 1 ♂ (CAUC), data same as holotype; 1 ♂ (CAUC), Jinping, Yakou, 18. V. 2006, Junhua Zhang; 1 ♀ (CAUC), Jinping, Fenshuiling protection station, 18. V. 2006, Shan Huo.

Distribution. China (Yunnan Province).

Remarks. The new species is somewhat similar to Noeetomima chinensis sp. nov. from China in the following characters: arista white pubescent; scutellum with greyish yellow pruinosity on basal 1/4–1/3, dense yellow microscopic setulae on apical 1/2; a pair of small greyish white round spots near base of basal scutellar seta; hind femur with 2 strong anteroventral setae on apical 1/2; short white irregular lines in a brown central area except cell br; posterior margin undulating. However, N. yunnanica can be separated from the latter by the wing having 3 white spoon-like spots along the costal margin and 7 dot-like spots present along R1, the scutellum having a greyish white elliptical median spot on basal 1/3; the surstylus consisting of a long claviform anterior process with setulae and a furcated digitiform posterior apical process in lateral view. In N. chinensis, a row of white triangular spots are present along the costal margin; the scutellum has no greyish white median spot; the surstylus consists of a long furcated process with setulae and a short truncate process in lateral view. This new species is also somewhat similar to Noeetomima thaiensis from Thailand in the wing pattern, but it can be separated from the latter by the palpus being mostly yellow except brown or blackish brown at tip, sometimes entirely blackish brown on apical 2/3, and the hind femur having 2 anteroventral setae. In Noeetomima thaiensis, the palpus is entirely black and the hind femur has only 1 anteroventral seta (Sasakawa, 1987).

Etymology. The specific epithet is named for the collecting locality Yunnan.
