Agyneta emertoni (Roewer 1942)

Microneta pallida Emerton 1917: 265, f. 17.1–2. (Description 3, preoccupied by Kulczyn'ski, 1908). Microneta emertoni Roewer 1942: 521. (Replacement name).

Meioneta pallida van Helsdingen 1973: 7, 9. (Transferred 3 from Microneta, subprimary junior homonym). Agyneta emertoni Buckle et al. 2001: 100. (Transferred from Meioneta).

Type material: Microneta pallida Emerton 1917, 3 SYNTYPE from Departure Bay, Vancouver Island. 1913. T.B. Kurata. J.H. Emerton Coll. (unique number 22478). MCZ, EXAMINED. One female Erigoninae also in vial. Diagnosis: Males are diagnosed from all Agyneta species by the large rounded dorsal cymbial tubercle (Fig. 196) and their finger-shaped lamella characteristica (Fig. 195).

Description: Male: Total length 2.02; carapace length 0.88, width 0.77.

CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace light yellow, shiny, finely reticulate; suffused with dark gray along radiating lines and pars cephalica. Sternum completely suffused with dark gray. Chelicerae light yellow; excavated; promargin 0 denticle, retromargin five denticles. Cheliceral stridulatory organ visible ~9 striae, largely spaced (not observed under microscope). ABDOMEN: Uniformly light gray. LEGS: Light yellow; Tm I not observed, Tm IV: absent. GENITALIA: Palpal retrolateral tibial apophysis small, rounded; dorsal tibial apophysis elongated, rugose; palpal tibial trichobothria not observed (Fig. 195). Cymbium with retrolateral fold; glabrous depression not observed (Fig. 195); dorsal cymbial tubercle large and rounded; ventral tubercle absent; prolateral notch absent (Fig. 196). Paracymbium with apical pocket only; lamella characteristica small, fingerlike (Fig. 195).

Female: Unknown.

Distribution: Western Canada, British Columbia.
