Plea minutissima minutissima Leach, 1817
Plea minutissima Leach, 1817: 14 (as new species); Plea minutissima var. sublaevis Rey, 1894: 13; Plea leachi MacGregor & Kirkaldy, 1899: 4; Plea atomaria Horváth, 1918: 336 non Pallas, 1771.
Distribution in Iran. East Azarbaijan (Sadeghi et al. 2009; Khaghaninia et al. 2010b), Guilan (Cox & Cox, 1995; Linnavuori & Hosseini 2000), Hamadan (Samin et al. 2011), Kordestan (Wagner 1961), Markazi (Vafaei 2005; Vafaei et al. 2004), West Azerbaijan (Sakenin et al. 2010).
General distribution. Euro-Siberian (Polhemus 1995; Fent et al. 2011).
Comments. The biology of P. minutissima was studied by Vafaei et al. (2004) in Markazi province, and this species feeds on Cyclops, larvae of Ephemeroptera, Chironomidae, and Osteracodae.
