Diagnosis. Uaiuara barroana (Chamberlin) comb. nov. resembles U. ope sp. nov. and U. palenque sp. nov. in the very long retrolateral groove, extending throughout almost all of cymbium length (Figs 34, 46, 50). They are distinguished from these species by the long and slender median apophysis (Fig. 33) and by the RTA with dRTA almost twice as long as vRTA and subrectangular in retrolateral view (Fig. 34). Females resemble those of U. palenque sp. nov. in the epigyne with median septum slightly rectangular, more than three times wider than long (Figs 35, 51). It is distinguished from the latter species by the vulva with LP of similar width throughout its entire length and by the presence of slightly elongate gp (tapering and inconspicuous, respectively, in U. palenque sp. nov.) (Fig. 36).

Redescription. Male (MCZ 69015): Prosoma pale brownish orange, slightly darker at eye area, with brown margins, brown fovea, brown marks along lateral margins of cephalic region and between thoracic striae. Eye borders black. Chelicerae brownish orange with longitudinal brown stripe. Legs and pedipalps pale brownish orange (Fig. 3). Labium and endites orange, distally lighter. Sternum pale orange with darker margins. Opisthosoma yellowish cream colored with dorsal pattern of scattered marks laterally on anterior half and chevronlike marks on posterior half (Fig. 3). Total length 6.7. Prosoma: 3.0 long, 2.6 wide. Opisthosoma: 3.7 long, 2.0 wide. Eyes: diameters: 0.24, 0.18, 0.12, 2.0; interdistances: 0.16, 0.06, 0.26, 0.22, 0.14, 0.08. Legs: I: 11.8 (3.4, 1.6, 3.2, 2.9, 0.7); II: 11.6 (3.3, 1.6, 3.1, 2.9, 0.7); III: 9.7 (3.2, 1.2, 2.2, 2.4, 0.7); IV: 11.0 (3.1, 1.2, 2.6, 3.2, 0.9). Spination: tibiae I–II: v 7 pairs; tibia IV: v1 p-2-2. Palp: tibia with 1 prolateral spine; vRTA long and triangular with a small, triangular projection at base and dRTA subrectangular in retrolateral view; VTA absent; cymbium with long retrolateral groove, flanked with setae; subtegulum/tegulum notch at 3:30 o’clock; tegulum flanked prolaterally by hyaline lamina, strongly protruding at base of embolus and at base of conductor; embolus arising from tegulum between 4:30 and 5 o’clock (Figs 33–34).

Description. Female (MCZ 69018): Coloration as in male, except prosoma, legs and pedipalps brownish orange with less conspicuous markings and opisthosoma slightly creamish orange (Fig. 4). Total length 8.2. Prosoma: 3.6 long, 3.2 wide. Opisthosoma: 4.6 long, 2.6 wide. Eyes: diameters: 0.26, 0.20, 0.16, 0.18; interdistances: 0.20, 0.08, 0.28, 0.24, 0.18, 0.12. Legs: I: 11.9 (3.3, 1.8, 3.3, 2.8, 0.7); II: 12.3 (3.7, 1.8, 3.2, 2.8, 0.8); III: 10.0 (3.0, 1.4, 2.4, 2.5, 0.7); IV: 11.5 (3.3, 1.4, 2.8, 3.1, 0.9). Spination: femora I–II r0-1-1; femur III: r1- 0-0; tibiae I–II: v 7 pairs; tibia III: r0. Epigyne: epigynal field as long as wide; lateral lobes with small, posterior, triangular projections, reaching half the length of the median septum; median septum more than 4 times wider than long, slightly indented posteriorly (Fig. 35). Vulva: Lp almost parallel; gp arising from Cp, close to Lp; fertilization ducts very long, diverging posteriorly with tips pointing towards each other (Fig. 36).

Variation. Males (n = 10): total length 6.3–8.4; prosoma length 2.9–3.7; femur I length 3.0–4.1. Females (n = 10): total length 7.7–10.0; prosoma length 3.2–3.8; femur I length 2.8–3.8.

Distribution. Central America: Panama (Fig. 58).
