Diagnosis. Specimens of L. taino are easily distinguished from other Antillean species by the cylindrical embolus longer than the width of the bulb(Figs. 31−32), and by the female genitalia with large and oval finger-like receptacles with elongated bases (Figs. 43−44).

Description. Male and female described by Gertsch (1958) and redescribed by Gertsch & Ennik (1983). Carapace, male palp, and female genitalia shown in the figures 31−34; 37−38; 43−44. Palpal tarsus of female slender (Figs 35−36).

Variation. Male (n=2): Total length 6.8−7, carapace 3.1−3.3 long, femur I 6 −6.3 long. Palpal tibia 0.8−0.85 long, 0.75−0.85 wide. Female (n=9): total length 7.1−9.6, carapace 2.8−4.1 long, femur I 5 −6.7 long. Palpal tibia 0.65−1.1 long, 0.2−0.3 wide. Palpal tarsus 5−6.7 long.
