Stiretrus anchorago (Fabricius, 1775)
Examined material. CHOCÓ. Riosucio, Tilupo, 30 mar 1978, H. Echeverri / ICN 0 55910 (1f, ICN)
Comments. First record for South America. The genus Stiretrus has eight species described. This species has been recorded for USA, Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Honduras, and Panama (Thomas 1992; Maes 1994). This new record it is an important a range extension of the distribution of the species, known before only for the north and center of continent.
