Trichomyia complicata Araújo & Bravo sp. nov.

(Figs. 22A–H)

Diagnosis. Gonocoxites with posterior arm tapering apically, anterior margin with a row of small rod-like setae; two pairs of digitiform projections in the aedeagal complex; the inner projection about twice longer than lateral projection; ejaculatory apodeme short, 0.3 times the length of gonostylus; cercus with two short apical bristles.

Description. Male. Head subcircular in frontal view. Antenna incomplete in the studied specimens; scape subcylindrical; pedicel subspherical (Fig. 22A); flagellomeres pyriform and eccentric (Fig. 22A); ascoids 1.8 times as long as the length of flagellomere (Fig. 22C). Palpus three segmented; first segment with sensilla in depressed pit on medial surface; palpus formula 1.0:0.6:0.6 (Fig. 22B). Wing. R4+5 incomplete at base; r-m and m-cu absent (Fig. 22D). Male terminalia: Hypandrium and gonocoxites fused. Gonocoxites with posterior arm tapering apically; anterior margin with a row of small rod-like setae (Fig. 22G). Gonostylus slightly sclerotized, articulated ventrally to gonocoxite, bare, curved (Figs. 22G, 22E). Presence of two pairs of digitiform projections in the aedeagal complex; the inner projection about twice longer than lateral projection (Figs. 22G, 22E). Aedeagus ending at apex of projections in the aedeagal complex (Fig. 22G). Ejaculatory apodeme short, 0.3 times the length of gonostylus. Epandrium longer than wide. Cercus piriform (Fig. 22H) with two short apical bristles (Fig. 22F). Hypoproct with apical micropilosity (Fig. 22H).

Female. Unknown.

Material examined. Brazil, Bahia, Ituberá municipaliy, 15.VII.2002, holotype ♂, I. Castro leg. (MZFS); 12 paratypes: 6 ♂, same locality as holotype, 12.VI.2002, F. Bravo leg. (MZFS); 6 ♂, same locality, 01.VII.2003, F. Bravo leg. (MZFS).

Etymology. From Latim, complicatus, refers to the shape of projections in the aedeagal complex. Distribution. Brazil—Bahia.
