Description

Genus Javalbia Viets, 1935

The genus Javalbia is widely distributed and is known from the Oriental, Palaearctic and Afrotropical regions. Especially rich in species is the Oriental region, with 20 species described (Smit & Pešić 2014, Smit in prep, Pešić & Smit in prep). From the Afrotropical region only two species have been described, i.e. J. (Javalbiopsis) africana Cook, 1966 from Liberia and J. (Javalbiopsis) lata K.O. Viets, 1974 from South Africa.
