Description
47. Stenotaenia cf. naxia (Verhoeff, 1901)
New records from Peloponnisos (Fig. 15). 1 ♀, Messinia, Kalamata, 380 m, N37.07221 / E22.15783, 21 Apr. 2003, P. Cerretti.
Remarks. Stenotaenia naxia is an Eastern Mediterranean species whose reliable records came from the Cyclades Islands (Is. Syros, Is. Naxos), Dodecanese (Is. Halki, Rhodes), Crete, and Palestine; its presence in Anatolia should be confirmed (Bonato & Minelli 2008).
The specimen examined here is tentatively assigned to Stenotaenia naxia as it shows the following main features: large body size (length 67 mm); 99 leg bearing segments; labrum with apparently four tubercles; lappets on both the coxosternum and the telopodites of first maxillae not seen; chitin lines of the forcipular coxosternum reaching the anterior condyles; anterior margin of the forcipular coxosternum wide and almost straight; forcipular intermediate articles distinctly separate; sternal pore areas in the anterior part of the trunk oval, slightly longer than wide, and placed on the posterior half of each sternum; each coxopleuron with one pouch with pores and a small anterior pore.
