Description
Limnophora conversa Stein, 1918: 196.
Described from a series from Madagascar; syntypes 12♂ 1♀ in NMW and 1♂ in ZMHU (Pont and Werner 2006: 36; Pont 2013: 65).
Diagnosis. Postsutural dorsocentrals 3; scutum black, silver only on notopleural and postpronotal areas; fore tibia with one median posterior seta; male hind femur, before apex, with 4–5 posteroventral setae in a close-set group, preceeded by fine posteroventral hairs.
Notes. The species was included in a key to Madagascan Limnophora by Couri et al. (2006: 850) but we have seen no new material since the description by Stein (1918).
Limnophora curvimedia Zielke, 1974: 37.
Holotype female in CAS.
Diagnosis. Postsutural dorsocentrals 3; scutum with four dark brown vittae; mid femur with one posterior preapical seta; haltere pale yellow.
Notes. This runs to L. quadristriata Emden, 1951, at couplet 7 in Emden’s (1951) key, but differs by the strongly curved M vein.
