Haemogamasus timofejevi Buyakova & Goncharova 1962: 760, figs 1–3.

Haemogamasus timofejevi.— Zemskaya, 1973: 119; Nikulina, 1987: 224, fig. 116 (7, 14); Goncharova et al., 1991: 45.

Type locality. Russia, Eastern Siberia, Chita City.

Syntypes. ZIN.

Type host. Mus musculus (L., 1758).

Host range. Similarly to Hg. pontiger, this species is a predatory mite with a tendency towards hematophagy (Goncharova et al., 1991). It may live in vegetable stores, cellars and other similar locations inhabited by synanthropic rodents. The occurrence of Hg. timofejevi on wild rodents is also known (Goncharova et al., 1991).

Distribution. Siberia (Western and Eastern), Transbaikalia, northern China (Goncharova et al., 1991).
