Description
Rhimphoctona grandis (Fonscolombe, 1852)
(Figs 1, 2, 4)
Material examined. No material examined from the Ukrainian Carpathians. Additional material: 2 males and 2 females from ZSM collection.
Diagnosis. The female of this species is characterized by the red hind coxae; long and widened temples (Fig. 1. 1); closely rugulo-punctate mesopleuron (Fig. 2. 1); propodeum with distinct costulae and rugulose area superomedia (Fig. 4. 1); and the ovipositor which is about 1.5 × the length of hind tibia. The male generally resembles female and has black face.
Distribution. Western Palaearctic, Nearctic (Yu et al. 2012).
