Description

Epsilon grandipunctatum Gusenleitner, 1996

Epsilon grandipunctatum Gusenleitner 1996: 39, 41, 53, fig. 2, ♂ —“ Philippinen, Dulag Leyte ” (holotype UMHU).

Material examined. PHILIPPINES: MINDANAO: Agusan, Sibagat, VI.2016, 1 ♂; Mizamis, Balingasag, VIII.2014, 4 ♂; Zamboanga, Gutalac, VI.2015, 1 ♂ (all in MSVI).

Distribution. Philippine Islands: Mindanao (new record), Leyte (Gusenleitner 1996).

Remarks. This species was previously known only on the holotype, a male collected in Leyte. The distribution of this species is here extended to Mindanao, but it is very likely that this species will reveal to be more widespread in the Philippine Islands, like the other Philippine species of this genus, Epsilon dyscherum (de Saussure, 1852).
