Type Locality: India: TN, Dindigul, Shembaganur, Kodaikanal (HT ♀); MNHNP. Distribution: India (TN: Dindigul, Shembaganur, Kodaikanal).

Thomson, 1860: 75; Cerosterna Dejean, 1835: 341 (type sp.: Lamia gladiator Fabricius, 1801) [nom. nudum]; Psaromaia Pascoe, 1866c: 289 (type sp.: Psaromaia tigrina Pascoe, 1866); Toxosterna J. Thomson, 1868b: 178 (type sp.: Lamia spinator Fabricius, 1798); Falsapriona Pic, 1925a: 3 (type sp.: Falsapriona luteopubens Pic, 1925); Loxotropoides Fisher, 1935: 600 (type sp.: Loxotropoides brunnea Fisher, 1935); Trichocelosterna Breuning, 1965f: 45 (type sp.: Celosterna rouyeri Ritsema).
