1977 Dactylocythere peedeensis, new species.—Hobbs & Peters: iii, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 21, 26, 36–38, 43, 71, Fig. 16a–f, Map 8 (A, D, H, K, R, T).

2014a Dactylocythere peedeensis Hobbs & Peters, 1977.—Mestre, Monrós & Mesquita-Joanes: 948 (C).

Remarks: In their key to the North Carolina species of Dactylocythere, Hobbs & Peters (1977: 26) include D. peedeensis twice, once as 2’, and again as 12’; both options for couplet 2 terminate in a species, i.e., each is a deadend couplet.
