Holotype: RMNH D 279.
Type locality: Nagasaki, Japan. Illustrations: Katayama, 1960, pls. 17 & 18; Kuiter 2004:99, figs. A–D.

Distribution: southeastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific, antitropical.
