Anisepyris arthadi Barbosa & Azevedo, sp. nov.

Description, female. Body length 4.77 mm. Head dark castaneous; mesosoma dark castaneous; wings clear hyaline; metasoma castaneous. Head wide. Mandible with five distal teeth, wide, angled, and with lower tooth longer than others. Median clypeal lobe rounded, very short, with apical margin truncate; median clypeal carina angled in lateral profile and hardly distinct from clypeus. Frons coriaceous; with frontal process; antennal scrobe ecarinate. Eye large; circumocular suture present. Frontal angle of ocellar triangle acute; ocelli very small. Vertex straight. Pronotal disc as long as wide, sparsely punctate and with margin of transverse pronotal carina followed by large foveae; transverse pronotal carina complete; posterior margin with posterior pronotal sulcus. Notaulus wide. Mesoscutellar disc with mesoscutellar sulcus narrow; posterior mesoscutellar sulcus present. Metapectal-propodeal disc short; metapostnotal median carina complete; longitudinal ridges absent; metapostnotal-propodeal suture fused with first metapostnotal carina; paraspiracular carina present and conspicuous; metapleural carina present and conspicuous; metapectal-propodeal disc polished; propodeal declivity strigate. Mesopleuron with anterior fovea closed; mesopleural fovea closed; lower fovea divided; posterior fovea absent; mesopleural suture closed. Forewing with stigma developed; Rs&M vein distinguished. Mesotibia not spinose; claws trifid. Metasomal segments sparsely setose. Genitalia. T9 with anterior arm long and overlapping 2vf; 1vv longer than genitalia body; 2vv shorter than 1vv length, abruptly narrowing apicad; 3vv short; 1vf slightly curved forward; 2vf slender, ventral margin angled, and with dorsal lap strongly swollen posteriorly; 1rv not curved, ventral process large, and posterior process short; 2rv not curved.

Material examined. Holotype, ♀, BRAZIL, Amazonas, Novo Aripuanã, Reserva Soka, 05°15'53”S 60°07'08"W, 17–25.viii.1999, arm[adilha] Malaise, J.F. Vidal & A.L. Henriques col[etores] (INPA).

Distribution. Brazil: Amazonas.

Remarks. This new species differs from A. nigripes Evans, 1966 by having the head distinctly wider than long; the mandible wide apically and angulate; the clypeus with apical margin truncate and rounded; the antennal scrobe ecarinate; the frons with a short frontal line; and the pronotal disc with a single median fovea, whereas A. nigripes has the head wide; the mandible narrow, slightly angled, and with the lower tooth longer than others; the clypeus rounded, short, and with an apical median tooth; the antennal scrobe carinate; the frons without a short frontal line; and the pronotal disc without a fovea.
