Eurygerris flavolineatus

Description

Eurygerris flavolineatus (Champion, 1898)

(Fig. 12)

Previously recorded from western Mexico to Ecuador, including the Costa Rican provinces of Cartago, Guanacaste, Heredia, and Puntarenas (Champion 1898; Kirkaldy 1899a; Drake & Harris 1934, 1938; Kuitert 1942; Matsuda 1961a; Morales & Molano 2009; Herrera 2013; Damgaard et al. 2014). It is herein recorded for the first time from Alajuela and San José provinces, but many gaps exist in its distribution in both Central and South America. In Costa Rica, E. flavolineatus is found on the riffles and back water areas of lotic habitats, between 900 and 2,669 m a.s.l.
