Geomydoecus texanus tropicalis Price & Hellenthal, 1975a: 403. Tamaulipas: Geomys tropicalis, 1 mi (1.6 km) S of Altamira, 4 Jul. 1953, G.H. Heinrich (Price & Hellenthal 1975a).
Types: Holotype male deposited in KSUC (55542).
