Notes. The genus Cyllodes is mainly tropicopolitan in distribution with maximum representation in the Indo- Malayan Region, although some species extend into the temperate parts of the Nearctic and Palaearctic regions. It differs from other Australian cyllodines in having the mesoventrite steeply elevated (in ventral view), the mandibular apex serrate both dorsally and ventrally, metatarsomeres 1–3 lobed, and the frontoclypeal suture absent. There is apparently only one variable species in New Guinea and Australia.
