Description
Planiplax Muttkowski, 1910
For species identification see Ris (1912) and Santos (1949b). A small group, mature males of most species with brilliant red on dorsum of abdomen (Fig. 109). Frequent ponds with emergent and floating vegetation. Very little is known about these wary dragonflies. Ecuador is a new country record for the genus.
