Phoenicagrion von Ellenrieder, 2008One of the three described species known in this genus occurs in Ecuador and an apparently undescribed species has recently been collected in the country. Adults are mid-sized with a reddish-orange thorax devoid of black stripes, and the sides of the thorax have oblique blue stripes resulting in a unique color pattern (Fig. 29). They occur near lowland forested pools. For identification use von Ellenrieder (2008).
