Distribution: Global: Western Atlantic Ocean; Georgia, USA, to Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil; entering estuaries and littoral lagoons and ascending river courses; Costa Rica: To and Pa (Atlantic), 0– 3 m.a.s.l., Per, Dia.

Occurrence and conservation status: Nat, LC.
