Description
Cephennomicrus sp. 4
(Figs 9, 93–98)
Material studied. Late Eocene of Europe, Rovno amber: sex unknown; inclusion in elongate, irregularly subtriangular piece of amber 9.5 mm long (Fig. 9), collection number K-8912 (SIZK).
Description. Body (Figs 93–98) elongate and strongly convex, nearly black; BL 1.00 mm.
Head (Figs 93–94, 96–97) broadest at eyes, HL 0.13 mm, HW 0.28 mm; head structures poorly visible, vertex and frons confluent, weakly convex and together strongly transverse; supraantennal tubercles weakly marked; eyes large and strongly convex, moderately coarsely faceted. Antennae (Figs 93–98) about as long as half BL, AnL about 0.50 mm, shapes of antennomeres obscured by turbid amber.
Pronotum (Figs 93–94, 96–97) subrectangular, but exact shape difficult to asses in the studied specimen; PL 0.30 mm, PW 0.38 mm; pronotal disc broadest most likely near anterior third, sides rounded; posterior pronotal corners obtuse-angled; posterior margin arcuate; antebasal structures (i.e., pits and grooves), punctures and setae not visible.
Elytra (Figs 93–94, 96–97) elongate oval, strongly convex, EL about 0.58 mm, EW 0.50 mm, EI about 1.15; punctures and setae not visible.
Legs (Figs 95, 98) only partly visible, moderately long and slender.
Remarks. This specimen is poorly preserved, but the general body form and some ventral characters (Fig. 98) allow for placing it in Cephennomicrus. See remarks for Cephennomicrus sp. 2.
