Amblygobius decussatus
Description
Amblygobius decussatus (Bleeker 1855) —Crosshatch goby
Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a video of a specimen taken on north coast of Manne Island, Kavieng District at 1–11 m depth, St. KR 36, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell); another taken of a specimen at Anelaua Island, off eastern New Hanover, at 3–16 m depth, St. KR 98, in 2014.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Cocos-Keeling Islands east to Philippines and New Guinea, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to Australia and New Caledonia. Found on silt, mud or sand in lagoons and sheltered bays, 3–25 m depth. Marine.
