Cirrhilabrus beauperryi Allen, Drew & Barber 2008 —Purple fairy-wrasse (Fig. 107)

Status at New Ireland. First recorded from New Ireland by Allen & Erdmann (2012: 651). Photographs of specimens from Kavieng region taken on 1 and 3 June 2013 during ACIAR Aquarium Survey. A small school was photographed at Lissenung Island, Kavieng District, 5 m depth, by Dean Tully on 26 June 2013; a video of a specimen taken at Martha's Shoal, off eastern New Hanover, at 7–41 m depth, St. KR 122, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Endemic to northeastern Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands. Solitary or in small groups, on coral rubble adjacent to lagoon reefs or slopes of seaward reefs, 5–32 m depth. Marine.
