Description

Stenothemus notaticollis species-group

Definition. Body is yellow or brown, densely covered with pale-yellow pubescence except sparsely on pronotum; pronotum is mostly pitch black or pale-yellow with black brown markings on disc, scutellum is yellow, elytra are pitch black or black brown or pale-yellow, legs bicolored, mixed with yellow and black, or pale-yellow and dark brown. Pronotum is subrounded, with widely rounded anterior angles and sharply projecting posterior angles. In male genitalia, ventral processes of parameres are diverging apically in ventral view, laterophyses are moderately long and parallel to dorsal plates in lateral view, conjoined and expanded apically. In the internal genitalia of female, vagina is narrowed apically and extended into a long and thick tube, spermathecal duct is short and stout, spermatheca and diverticulum are moderately long and thick, accessory gland is slightly shorter than spermatheca.

Included species. S. bourgeoisi Wittmer, 1974, S. notaticollis (Gorham, 1895), S. tamil Švihla, 2011, S. parameratus sp. nov. and S. acutiapicis sp. nov.

Distribution. China (Xizang, Yunnan), eastern and southern India.
