Phricodus bessaci Villiers, 1959
Phricodus bessaci Villiers, 1959: 1221; Phricodus pakistanensis Hamid, 1974: 303; Phricodus echinocoris Abbasi, 1986: 123.
Distribution in Iran. Hormozgan, Kerman (Hoberlandt 1997), Iran (no locality cited) (Rider 2006). General distribution. Eremian: Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan; in tropical Africa: Mauritania, Senegal, Sudan, Chad.
Host plants. Seems to live on Boraginaceae and particularly on Heliotropum (Derjanschi & Péricart 2005), in Iran on H. persicum (Hoberlandt 1997). From the whole material of P. bessaci collected in Iran, 54% belong to macropterous and 46% to brachypterous specimens of different stages (Hoberlandt 1997).
