Jalla herrichii Kolenati, 1846: 35; Barbiger montanus Jakovlev, 1879: 40; Barbiger jakovleffi Reuter, 1881: 157; Agatharchus herrichii var. aemulans Horváth, 1897: 83; Agatharchus herrichii var. sobrinus Horváth, 1897: 83.

Distribution in Iran. Alborz (Ribes & Pagola Carte 2013), Isfahan (Hoberlandt 1959 as A. herrichi var. sobrinus Horváth, 1897; Hoberlandt 1959; Ribes & Pagola Carte 2013), Qazvin (Hoberlandt 1997), Tehran (Hoberlandt 1955, Safavi 1959, Modarres Awal 1997b as A. (A.) montanus (Jakovlev, 1879)). Northern Iran (no locality cited) (Kiritshenko 1938; Putshkov 1965), Iran (no locality cited) (Rider 2006).

General distribution. Caucasian Region and Central Asia: southern Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Syria, Turkey (Asian part).
