Description
Pachydactlylus rangei (Andersson, 1908)
Material (one specimen): One adult specimen (MHNCUP/REP 217, formerly UP-MHNFCP-095008; Fig. S31), collected from Bahia dos Tigres [= Baía dos Tigres] [-16.58559º, 11.82709º, 98 m a.s.l.] Namibe Province, in 1905.
Comments: Pachydactylus rangei occurs in Namibe Province, southwestern Angola (Marques et al. 2018). This species was never cited by Ferreira (1904, 1906) in any of his papers. MHNCUP/REP 217 locality matches the species distribution range in the country. P. rangei was first described as Palmatogecko rangei Andersson, 1908, being the type species for the genus, but it was later synonymized with Pachydactylus by Bauer & Lamb (2005). The species was recently collected by Luís M. P. Ceríaco and Mariana P. Marques in the same area where Newton collected the aforementioned specimen (Fig. 6).
