Description

Dentalium (?) sp 3

Fig. 1f

MATERIAL EXAMINED. — Loyalty Islands. Lifou. LIFOU 2000: stn 1413, Baie du Santal, 20°55.3’S, 167°05.0’E, 3-10 m, 1 dd.

REMARKS. — The single specimen (L 20, W 3, w 0.7, arc 5), has dense, fine riblets along the length of the shell resembling those of a Graptacme species, but it also has 8 weak primary ribs, only observed under magnification, that could place it in Dentalium. Additional material is needed for correct generic placement.
