Spilosoma fumosa Strecker, 1900: 28. — Type locality: [USA], N[ew] Y[ork], Batavia. — Type specimen: Holotype female (FMNH).
TYPE LOCALITY. — [North America] America boreali.
TYPE SPECIMENS. — Undisclosed number of syntypes (ZMUC; 3 syntypes).
REMARK
Reported from Mexico by Beutelspacher (1996: 60).
