Description
Genus Pontodrilus Perrier, 1874
Pontodrilus Perrier, 1874: 1582; Michaelsen 1900: 179; Gates 1972: 47.
Type species. Pontodrilus marionis Perrier, 1874 (= Lumbricus litoralis Grube, 1855).
Distribution. One species (Pontodrilus litoralis) widely found on shorelines in the tropics and warmer parts of continents and islands; others in Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and China (Blakemore 2002). Remarks. Only one species has been recorded in Vietnam.
