ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Xestomyza lugubris Wiedemann, 1820.

TYPE SPECIES: Xestomyza lugubris Wiedemann, 1820, by original designation (on plate).

CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [teste Sabrosky (1999: 323)].

FAMILY: THEREVIDAE.

REMARKS: The original type designation is made by virtue of the plate legend indicating that the figure is of the type of the genus.
