Wilson; 3 females (slide NPPRL ref. 09/2004/689), from Y. elephantipes (Agavaceae), Rentokil Plant Nursery, Mangere, Auckland, New Zealand, 28 January 2004; 30 females and 2 males (3 slides NPPRL ref. 09/2005/4193), from Yucca sp. Host. Yucca glauca, Y. elephantipes (Agavaceae).
Relation to host. Vagrant; mites cause leaf deformation, with affected fronds dusted with whitish powder.
Dsitribution. New Zealand (Auckland), USA (Kansas, Georgia, California), Serbia, Poland, Iran, Hungary.
Remarks. An interesting abnormal development of setae was observed in one specimen collected on Yucca sp. in Mangere, Auckland. The two setae on coxal plate I on one side form a duplex (Fig. 3B).
