Description
Amerodectes spizellae Mironov and Chandler, 2017

Material examined. 12 males, 15 females from Spizella passerina (Bechstein, 1798) (Passeriformes: Passerellidae), (SM 1965), CANADA, Manitoba, Winnipeg, 13 May 2009, coll. T.D. Galloway and R. Duarte.
This species was described from the Chipping Sparrow, S. passerina, in Georgia, USA (Mironov & Chandler 2017). In Canada, this mite is reported for the first time.
