Description

Platypalpus orphnus (Collin, 1933)

Tachydromia orphna Collin, 1933: 15.

Syntypes. Two males, and two females (NHMUK), Lago Gutiérrez, Argentina, and Casa Pangue, Chile; two males, and one female (USNM), Bariloche, Argentina, and Angol, Chile.

Distribution. Argentina: Neuquén Province, Río Negro Province (Bariloche, Lago Gutiérrez). Bolivia: Santa Cruz Department (Ichilo Province). Chile: Región de La Araucanía: Malleco Province (Angol); Región de Los Lagos: Llanquihue Province (Casa Pangue).

References. Collin, 1933: 13 (in key as Tachydromia), 15 (com.); Stuardo, 1946: 104 (cat., as Tachydromia); Smith, 1967: 7 (cat., as Platypalpus); Pont, 1995: 124 (typ.); Raffone, 2012: 99 (list, one female from Bolivia).
