Sapromyza palpella Rondani, 1868

ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1868c: 238 (key), 248 (description).

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in toto agro parmensi. In Insubria [in all the Parmese territory. In Insubria (= Lombardy) (Italy)]”.

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, lectotype (MZUF: Box 30): Sapromyza Fall. / palpella Rnd. / 1570 / lectotype Sapromyza palpella Rondani, ♀, des. L. Papp, 1981.

PARALECTOTYPES EXAMINED: 1 ♂ (missing head) (MZUF: Box 30): Sapromyza Fall. / palpella Rnd. / 1570 / ♂ / paralectotype Sapromyza palpella Rondani, ♂ / Homoneura sp. ♂, det. L. Papp; 2 ♀♀ (MZUF: Box 30): Sapromyza Fall. / palpella Rnd. / 1570 / paralectotype Sapromyza palpella Rondani, ♀; 1 ♀ (missing left wing) (MZUF: Box 30): Sapromyza Fall. / palpella Rnd. / 1570 / paralectotype Sapromyza palpella Rondani, ♀ / Lyciella decipiens Lw., ♀, det. L. Papp.

CURRENT STATUS: valid species (Papp 1984a: 214).

REMARKS: Rondani (1868c: 248) described Sapromyza palpella, without specifying the number, the sex or the length of the specimens, from material he had collected and also received from D’Arco. Papp (1981: 170) designated a lectotype (♀) and paralectotypes (1 ♂, 3 ♀♀).
